This glossary defines key terms you’ll encounter throughout Pals Club and its documentation. Use it as a quick reference whenever you come across an unfamiliar concept.

Account — Your personal Pals Club identity, created during sign-up and tied to your email address or social login. Your account stores your profile information, connections, group memberships, and preferences. You can manage your account settings from the account management page.Admin — A user with elevated permissions within a group or community. Admins can manage members, update group settings, and moderate content. See the features overview for more on group roles.
Block — An action that prevents another user from viewing your profile, sending you messages, or interacting with your content. Blocking is reversible and can be managed from your privacy settings. Learn more in our privacy and safety guide.
Community — A broad term for the network of users, groups, and shared content within Pals Club. Communities can form organically around interests, locations, or goals. Review our community guidelines for expected behavior.Connection — A mutual relationship between two Pals Club users, similar to a friend request on other platforms. Once connected, users can send direct messages and see each other’s activity in their feed. Our core workflows guide explains how to send and manage connections.Content — Any text, image, link, or media shared on Pals Club, including posts, comments, and messages. All content is subject to our community guidelines and terms of service.
Dashboard — The central hub you see after logging in, showing your feed, notifications, and quick links to key features. The dashboard is personalized based on your connections and group memberships. See the features overview for a tour.Diagnostics bundle — A downloadable package of logs and system information used by the support team to troubleshoot issues. You can generate a diagnostics bundle from Settings > Support > Diagnostics. DMs are end-to-end encrypted and are not visible to other users or group members. See core workflows for messaging details.
Escalation — The process of raising a support request to a higher priority level when standard resolution times are insufficient. Escalation is available for urgent or business-critical issues. Visit our escalation guide for eligibility and steps.
Feed — A personalized stream of posts, updates, and activity from your connections and groups. The feed is displayed on your dashboard and updates in real time. Customize what appears in your feed from Settings > Feed preferences.
Group — A space where multiple users can share content, have discussions, and collaborate around a common interest or topic. Groups can be public or private, and each has its own admins and moderators. Learn how to create or join a group in the features overview.
Moderator — A group role with permissions to review and remove content, mute members, and enforce group rules. Moderators are appointed by group admins and act as the first line of community management. See our community guidelines for moderation policies.
Notification — An alert informing you about activity relevant to your account, such as new connection requests, messages, or group updates. Notifications can be customized by type and delivery channel in Settings > Notifications. For issues with missing notifications, check common issues.
Pal — The Pals Club term for a connected user or friend on the platform. When someone accepts your connection request, they become your Pal, and their activity appears in your feed. Building your Pal network is a core part of the Pals Club experience.Plan — A subscription tier that determines which features and limits apply to your account. Pals Club offers a free tier and one or more premium plans. Compare available plans on the billing and subscriptions page.Profile — Your public-facing page on Pals Club, displaying your name, bio, avatar, and activity. Profiles are visible to other users based on your privacy settings. Manage your profile from Settings > Profile or see manage your account.
Report — A formal submission alerting Pals Club to content or behavior that violates community guidelines. Reports are reviewed by the moderation team and may result in content removal or account action. Learn how to file a report in our privacy and safety guide.
Severity level — A classification applied to support tickets or incidents indicating their urgency and impact. Severity levels range from low (minor inconvenience) to critical (platform-wide outage). See our escalation guide for definitions of each level.Status page — A public page showing the current operational status of Pals Club services and any ongoing incidents. The status page is updated in real time during outages or degraded performance. Visit the status and incidents page to check current status.Subscription — An active, recurring payment plan that grants access to premium features on Pals Club. Thread — A chain of replies attached to a specific post or message, allowing focused discussion on a single topic. Threads keep conversations organized within groups and direct messages. See core workflows for tips on using threads effectively.
Webhook — A developer feature that sends automated HTTP callbacks to an external URL when specific events occur in Pals Club. Webhooks can be configured for events like new group posts or connection requests. See the API overview for setup instructions.
